Return to School Information
The Minister of Education announced on Wednesday that students will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 10. School staff have spent this week preparing to welcome students back to class. We are excited to welcome students back to school on Monday.
The Province will be providing enhanced safety measures in the form of medical-grade masks and rapid test kits. This is in addition to the safety measures already in place since September.
Masks are required to be worn in school in all common areas. While the province is providing masks to students, they have not arrived yet. Students are expected to come prepared for school with their own mask. Please ensure your child has a number of masks with them when they leave for school on Monday.
The Province will be providing rapid test kits for students and staff. Once they arrive, it is recommended that students conduct a rapid test at home twice per week. Please inform the school if your child tests positive.
It is very important to keep your child home if they are ill. Any child experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 will be sent home. We ask you to use the Alberta Health Screening tool to complete the daily screening for Covid symptoms and Alberta Health regulations.
While the Province has canceled Diploma Exams for January, school final exams will still take place. In the absence of Diploma Exams, there will be a school final for all Diploma courses. An updated final exam schedule has been posted to our website and on our social media pages.
An email has been sent to all Hilltop families with further information. If you did not receive the email, please contact us so we can ensure we have the correct contact information.
Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
Again, we are excited to see our students back next week.
