Important Notice

Notice of Hold & Secure at Whitecourt schools: At approximately 1:00 pm today, Whitecourt schools initiated a voluntary Hold & Secure as a precaution while police investigated an incident in downtown Whitecourt. There was no direct threat to schools or students; students were kept inside as a precaution. All students are safe. The precautionary Hold & Secure will be in place until the end of the school day. Students will continue home this afternoon as normal.

A Hold & Secure is initiated when there is a situation taking place in the community that is not related to the school, like a bank robbery nearby. During a Hold & Secure, activities continue inside the building, but all doors are locked and no one is allowed to enter or exit the school. No one, other than law enforcement, is permitted access to the building until the Hold & Secure has been cleared.
