Volleyball Referee Clinic
Interested in being a volleyball referee? Please see the information below from Volleyball Alberta on upcoming clinics:
Volleyball Alberta struggles to find referees for matches or tournaments in your region. Finding local volunteers gets difficult and we know that if you had a certified referee in your area would not only help your school, not only this season, but in the future. Becoming certified would also give that individual the option to travel to other events as a Volleyball Canada Referee.
We are looking for anyone in your area that might be interested in formally becoming a referee by taking a clinic. Maybe you have a teacher, former student, parent, or simply a volleyball enthusiast that has expressed an interest. We are holding an Online Theory Clinic on September 26 and then would follow up with on court instruction and evaluation at the Junior Tournament in Westlock on October 13th &14th. As I see that you have a volleyball team will be attending the that Junior Tournament in Westlock, the individual could travel with your team and complete the Practical portion that weekend.
A candidate that completes the Level 1 Clinic would register with Volleyball Alberta and would also complete a Criminal Record Check, as well as a National program called Safe Sport. This protects a school from the liability that must be considered when we have anyone work with children and that includes our referees.
Potential candidates are asked to go to the Volleyball Alberta website ( https://www.
